Walking Through Life's Hardships Together

Emma is a warm, relational therapist who helps individuals, couples, and families understand the deeper patterns shaping their lives, relationships, and sense of self. Her approach is integrative, systemic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on both insight and practical change.

She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman-informed couples work, Narrative and family systems approaches, and EMDR. Emma-Kate has experience working with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity and self-worth concerns, substance use disorders and recovery, and serious mental illness (SMI). Her work has also included developing Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), strengthening coping and emotional regulation skills, identifying triggers and early warning signs, and helping clients build greater stability and resilience.

Before becoming a therapist, Emma spent 20 years in ministry, serving in roles including youth pastor, lead pastor, and church planter. This experience gave her a deep understanding of leadership, relationships, family systems, organizational pressure, transition, and the unique emotional and spiritual demands of ministry. She is especially passionate about supporting pastors, church leaders, ministry spouses and families, and others navigating burnout, leadership pressure, church hurt, relational strain, identity, or questions of calling and transition.

Emma also previously worked as a special needs teacher. That background continues to shape the way she works with neurodivergent children, adolescents, and adults, with particular sensitivity to individual learning, communication, sensory, and emotional needs.

For clients who desire it, Emma thoughtfully integrates Christian faith into therapy. She believes emotional, relational, and spiritual health can work together, while also recognizing that complex emotional experiences require more than simple spiritual answers.

Originally from England and raised in Australia, Emma is married and a mother of three. She brings warmth, humor, directness, and genuine curiosity into the therapy room and considers it a privilege to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward greater healing, connection, and wholeness.
